Falling

It felt like diving

into a whirlpool

of everything

I didn’t know

I wanted.  

I looked at you

and in the

ocean of your eyes,

I built an empire

even an earthquake

couldn’t break. 

So when it was time

for me to pull myself

out of this sea

and rise above,

I finally understood

why they call it

falling in love.
